At the end of September, CubeMatch UK donated £5,000 to the Parish of the Isle of Dogs, which covers an inner-city area in London near Canary Wharf. It is linked to where CubeMatch would have originally started and to CSR initiatives we would have supported in the past.
While Canary Wharf is a prosperous area of London and has created many jobs, areas in the Isle of Dogs still can be underprivileged. Within the last century, the area has been through some decline, and there have been multiple redevelopment programmes and initiatives to get the community back on its feet ever since.
This donation will aid the community development work carried out by Father Tom Pyke who works very closely with his local community.
Fr. Tom has created a community space to host: street dance, karate, big community celebrations (like the Coronation), public meetings; and most importantly their foodbank which is operated on a weekly basis; alongside London Dockland Singers and rehearsals for arts and education events.
We hope our donation will contribute to the progress of Fr. Tom’s work in the neighbourhood!
