Employee Volunteering in the Philippines

Employee Volunteering in the Philippines
2nd January 2024

CubeMatch and its employees would like to congratulate and recognise the great work of our very own Hazel Turla, who recently travelled to the Philippines to partake in voluntary work.

We were delighted to be able to support her GoFundMe campaign raising deeply needed funds for indigenous Filipino children known as the “Aetas”.

The “Aetas” are an indigenous group who live in scattered, mountainous regions of the Philippines. A history of deforestation, mining and slash-and-burn farming has caused this indigenous population to steadily decrease where now there are only thousands left.

In December, Hazel travelled to Sitio Dalig, Sta. Juliana, Capas, Tarlac in the Philippines where she helped the local community of 200-300 people by preparing meals and providing toys, hygiene kits, sweets, school supplies and uniforms for children currently attending primary school.

As Hazel has said “Not everyone has the opportunity to experience a pleasant life in this world. At least for a day we can make a difference and make them feel love and see their beautiful smiles!”

Well done Hazel!

At CubeMatch, we strongly believe that solidarity, integrity and community are important values. We are always delighted to be able to support employee volunteering initiatives.

As part of our commitment to CSR, each year we aim to support several charities, with donations and staff charity challenges alongside our very own Employee Supported Volunteering Programme.
