Job Description

CubeMatch is seeking an experienced Risk Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong expertise in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and/or Operational Risk. The role will focus on defining and enhancing risk frameworks, governance structures, processes, and controls within a highly regulated and controlled environment. The successful candidate will lead risk identification, assessment, and control design initiatives, ensuring alignment with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, including Legal, IT, and HR, to embed risk governance into business operations and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, enhance, and maintain Enterprise Risk Management and/or Operational Risk frameworks.
  • Develop and formalise risk processes, procedures, and company-wide standards.
  • Conduct periodic risk identification and risk assessments to evaluate vulnerabilities and emerging threats.
  • Design and implement effective, best-practice control frameworks tailored to business processes.
  • Develop and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to proactively identify changes in risk exposure.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, FCA, ISO standards).
  • Strengthen risk governance structures and ensure effective oversight mechanisms are in place.
  • Collaborate with Legal, IT, HR, and other departments to integrate risk considerations into projects, initiatives, and operational activities.
  • Support audit and compliance review activities, validating the effectiveness and accuracy of risk controls.
  • Provide regulatory oversight and contribute to remediation plans where gaps are identified.
  • Develop and deliver risk training programs, manuals, and awareness initiatives to foster a strong risk culture across the organisation.

Qualifications / Essential Skills & Attributes

  • Strong experience defining and implementing Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks and/or Operational Risk frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience working within controlled and regulated environments.
  • Proven expertise in risk identification, assessment methodologies, and control design.
  • Strong understanding of risk governance structures and oversight mechanisms.
  • Experience establishing company-wide standards, procedures, and risk policies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, FCA, ISO standards).
  • Experience designing, implementing, and monitoring Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
