Job Description
CubeMatch is seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to support data-driven decision-making within the Investment and Funds domain. The role involves analysing complex financial datasets, ensuring high standards of data quality, and supporting business stakeholders with insights derived from investment and performance data. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical teams to catalogue data requirements, analyse data quality issues, and support the development of reporting and analytics solutions. This role requires strong analytical capability, financial data expertise, and proficiency in modern data tools and methodologies
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse investment and fund-related datasets to generate meaningful insights and support business decision-making.
- Work with qualitative and quantitative datasets, identifying patterns, trends, and data quality issues.
- Perform data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and integration across multiple data sources.
- Support fund performance measurement analysis and ensure the accuracy and consistency of related data.
- Develop and maintain data models and database structures, including tables, primary keys, indices, and joins.
- Create interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to provide insights to stakeholders.
- Conduct advanced data analysis using SQL, Excel, and statistical techniques.
- Document and catalogue data requirements, including business and technical metadata, data lineage, and transformation logic.
- Identify and manage data quality issues, supporting remediation activities and tracking issues throughout the data quality lifecycle.
- Facilitate workshops and discussions with senior subject matter experts (SMEs) to define data requirements and validate analytical outputs.
- Collaborate with business, data, and technology teams to ensure consistent and reliable data management practices.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in AI, analytics, and data management and support adoption where relevant.
Qualifications / Essential Skills & Attributes
- Master’s or Honours Degree in a related discipline such as Business, Data Analytics, Information Management, Finance, or Mathematics.
- 6+ years of experience in data-focused roles within the Financial Services sector.
- Experience working with Funds and Investment data, including knowledge of fund performance measurement methodologies.
- Strong SQL and database knowledge, including experience with Oracle and MS SQL Server.
- Understanding of relational data models, including the creation of tables, indices, joins, and database structures.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to analyse complex datasets.
- Experience working with multiple and disparate data sources, including data extraction, merging, cleansing, and transformation.
- Experience with data cataloguing and metadata management, including business and technical metadata, lineage, and transformation documentation.
