Job Description

CubeMatch is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support a Finance and Risk Data transformation initiative focused on standardising data business logic across the entire reporting chain. This role will play a key part in analysing complex datasets using Python, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance, particularly aligned with BCBS239 requirements for data lineage and governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse complex finance and risk datasets using Python to identify inconsistencies, patterns, and opportunities for standardisation.
  • Support the standardisation of data business logic across the full reporting lifecycle, ensuring consistency and transparency.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and visualisations in Power BI to communicate analytical results and insights to stakeholders.
  • Ensure data complies with BCBS239 regulatory requirements, including documenting and maintaining clear data lineage.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Risk, Data, and DevOps teams to support data governance, reporting accuracy, and process improvements.
  • Assist in defining and validating data definitions, transformations, and business rules.
  • Contribute to data quality assessments and support remediation of data-related issues.
  • Work within a SCRUM-based agile environment, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Document analytical processes, methodologies, and outputs to support transparency and audit readiness.
  • Support pilot project objectives and provide recommendations for broader implementation.

Qualifications / Essential Skills & Attributes

  • Strong experience in data analysis using Python (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, data manipulation and analysis).
  • Proven experience in developing dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets in finance or risk environments.
  • Understanding of data governance principles and data lineage requirements.
  • Familiarity with BCBS239 regulatory principles (or similar financial data governance regulations).
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases is highly desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of data modelling concepts is an advantage..
