CubeMatch recognises the importance of wellbeing as the key to a balanced personal and professional life. Studies have shown that when a person neglects wellbeing it impacts on all areas of their lives. So as a business CubeMatch acknowledges that they must do all they can to ensure staff are supported in their efforts to pursue better and balanced life choices.
A few weeks ago, our employees organised and attended a lunch and learn session on balance and breaks, where all staff shared ideas for physical, mental, social, and emotional breaks. Following this session, it was agreed to that as many people as possible would take part in a wellness challenge month. The participants committed to a wellness personal goal and CubeMatch agreed that when the goal was reached, they would donate on behalf of each person to a range of charities picked by the group. We had a welcome addition to our participating group when Winnie, who is the Mam of our Head of HR and who is in her 90’s, also took part.
This challenge was a great opportunity for us all to work towards building a better lifestyle by introducing good habits to improve our mental and physical wellbeing.
The participants picked their goals which included:
- Exercising more or starting exercising
- Eating healthier and reducing snacks
- Starting a better sleep routine
- Making sure to take breaks during the workday to rest the eyes and stretch the body
- Starting to practice relaxation methods
- New activities such as yoga, sudoku…
And the charities that benefited were:
- Mental Health Ireland - €275
- Irish Cancer Society - €225
- MS Ireland - €200
