Unlike conventional client/server architecture, Supportworks includes a number of dedicated application server components that sit between the database and the client applications. These server components optimise and control the throughput of transactions, provide rapid lookup caches to enable high volume of transactions, and enforce all of the business rules needed in a controlled support environment.

One of the key features of NPA is the very low network bandwidth required to operate a full client. The full Supportworks application is useable and practical over a slow modem connection, making it an ideal tool for home working, remote working, on-site working and multi-site implementations as well as simple LAN installations.
